Link Value

Link Value
noun
Any measurement of numerical value applied to a hypertext link between two web documents.
other versions: link juice, link authority, link power, backlink power, backlink value, backlink authority

The link value from that news article has increased since it was published because more news outlets have cited it and linked to it.

Explanation
SEOs tend to disagree on what to call overall, aggregate, or algorithm agnostic numerical values pased through hypertext links between web documents. Link Value does not represent any single measurement but exists to be a catch-all term to briefly explain this phenomenon. There are various, specific, link value measurements used by different search engines. PageRank is a core one used by Google and is the original such value which helped seperate Google from other early search engines. You may hear this referred to as “link juice”, “link authority”, “link power”, “backlink power”, “backlink value”, or “backlink authority”.
