Since its founding, LinkedIn has become a mainstay of work life in cultures all around the globe. A profile on LinkedIn helps employees tell their story about the industry they work in and the work they are passionate about in a richer way than they ever could via a resume. LinkedIn works a little differently than other social media in many ways, one major distinction is that when you visit someones profile, those other users can see that you visited their profile. LinkedIn is now owned by tech giant Microsoft, previous to this the platform had spent years steadily growing by acquiring complimentary online services such as Lynda and Slideshare.
