Ultimasaurus Shopify Coupon Submission

Our Chrome extension Ultimsaurus has introduced a new feature: Automated Shopify Coupons. Our goal is to give users a way to score a discount while shopping and to help Shopify merchants increase conversions on their stores.

Unlike other coupon extensions / apps / platforms our goal is to promote and support small ecommerce retailers, though larger retailers who use Shopify are welcome to submit coupons as well.

We do have a few editorial rules for adding coupons to our extension:
1. Your store must have been online for least 12-months prior to submitting
2. The coupon must be good for at least 30-days from the date you submit it

How it Works

1. When an Ultimasaurus user visits a Shopify website we have a coupon for, the site icon in their Chrome toolbar will display the number of coupons we have available (and soon the icon itself will change too).

2. The user shops as they normally would on the site adding products to their cart.

3. When a user gets to the checkout page the Ultimasaurus extension will display the most recent coupons we have in our database that are believed to be functional.

4. The user selects a coupon by clicking on it and it automatically applies in their shopping cart.

FAQs

Question: Does this work on my Shopify theme?
Answer: Automated coupons have been tested with every major Shopify theme, including premium ones. It should work no matter what theme your store uses. However, if you have issues contact us and we will investigate.

Question: Will this feature ever come to other ecommerce CMSes like Woocommerce, BigCommerce, or Lightspeed?
Answer: We are working hard to bring automated coupons to more CMSes over time, however, there is no direct timeline for this.

Question: Do I get any analytics from this such as number of times coupons applied, etc…?
Answer: Not at this time.

Question: Can I offer any discount I want? For example a 1% off discount, $1 off, or a BOGO?
Answer: Yes, if it is supported by the standard Shopify experience it should be fine, no matter how little or how much you offer. However, our editorial team reserves the right to deny including any coupon.

Question: Will this drive new shopper traffic to my store?
Answer: No. This is not a traffic solution, but a conversion solution. The idea is to help as many customers convert in your cart as possible and avoid sticker shock cart abandonment.
